Community Service & Charity
Freemasonry in Illinois has a long-standing tradition of serving our communities with various acts of beneficence. Masons throughout the state continue this tradition through a network of charitable programs, with a primary focus advancing the welfare of others, particularly children and senior citizens. In continuing this tradition, we, as Freemasons, not only serve our communities by setting a good example as citizens, but also improve the lives of future generations and care for the elderly.

Harmony Lodge No. 3 does this on the local level by sponsoring Camp-Care-A-Lot and Jacksonville Golden Assembly No. 19, International Order of Rainbow for Girls. Camp-Care-A-Lot helps under privileged children attend a summer camp that teaches them self esteem while getting a chance to relax, play and have fun with other children their age. Jacksonville Golden Assembly No. 19, International Order of Rainbow for Girls is a Masonic Youth group that teaches girls ages 11 to 21 self esteem, public speaking, and leadership skills.

On the statewide level, giving to our charities is done through the Illinois Masonic Charities Fund. This Fund is designated to direct donations to each endowment which supports the individual charity. Along with direct giving, the Illinois Masonic Charities Fund is able to receive donations in the following ways:
- Charitable Gift Annuity
- Individual enrollment to the Illinois Masonic Charities Credit Card
- Individual enrollment to the Masonic Brotherhood Trust group Life insurance
